About Mechanical Engineering

Vision

The Mechanical Engineering Department endeavors to be recognized for quality education and research, leading to well qualified innovative mechanical engineers having essential technical, managerial and entrepreneurial skills.

Mission

1. Developing essential technical and managerial skill of a student by imparting fundamental knowledge of engineering and its practical application through qualified, trained and experienced faculties.
2. To enhance the creative and innovative skills of a student by providing state-of-the-art infrastructure and teaching-learning environment and encouraging them for development activities and higher education through research.
3. To provide collaborative environment establishing links with industries that stimulates faculty and students with opportunities to create, analyze, apply and disseminate knowledge.
4. To encourage the students for life-long learning, ethical values and entrepreneurship culture for industrial and societal needs.

About

Mechanical Engineering is the application of the principles of physics in the analysis, design, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems. Mechanical engineering is one of the broadest and most versatile of the engineering professions. Mechanical Engineering Department is established in the year 2004 with intake capacity of 60 students. To enhance the qualitative education, the intake has been increased to 120 students in the year 2009. This department has also started the post graduate course of M.E with specialization of CAD/CAM in the year 2010. This department is facilitated with all essential laboratories and equipments according to the curriculum of Gujarat technological University.
