KEY OBJECTIVES OF SSIP
- Creating
environment for creativity to flourish and an end-to-end support system in
educational institutions to allow ample support to ideas for better execution.
- Create pathways for mind to market by harnessing
and handholding projects/research/ innovation/ ideas of students in Gujarat.
- Create a common platform to showcase, support
and upscale innovations for motivating stakeholders as well as for an
opportunity to create value for money.
KEY GOALS OF SSIP
- Aim
to create an environment that converts at least 1% graduates into job creators
by innovation and allied means.
- Support at least 1,000 student-led innovations
per year and aim to file 1000 patents from universities in the state every
year.
- Harness
500 student startups in the next 5 years, and upscale.
- Create incentives, awards, appreciations and
benchmarks for innovation and student startups and associated efforts at all
layers.
BRIEF
OF ACTIVITIES DONE BY SSIP CELL, GEC DAHOD
Government Engineering College Dahod is one of the first 20 institutions across the state of Gujarat to be awarded the SSIP grant. The institute has received more than 30,00,000/- in the first phase of SSIP. Around 50 % of the total grant received is utilized in various SSIP activities till date. 56 projects have been supported at POC level and 12 patents are financially supported from SSIP grant till date.
More than 4000 students have been sensitized through various activities like technical workshops, awareness seminars, webinars, etc. GEC Dahod is one the first institution across the state of Gujarat to organize National Conference under the banner of SSIP which was related to startup and innovations.
